WASHINGTON – The VA hospitals in Castle Point and Montrose and their outpatient satellite locations could be eligible for significant upgrade as the federal budget includes $4 billion for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
Senator Charles Schumer said New York VA hospitals could receive a total
of $500 million for improvements.
“Unfortunately since so many of our VA facilities are old, they are not up to date and veterans don’t get the care they need,” Schumer said. “Our VA facilities in New York haven’t received much needed TLC in a long time.”
In Dutchess and Westchester counties, there are six projects that could be funded.  They could cost between $76.4 million and $92.4 million.
