Esopus teen arrested on robbery, assault charges

KINGSTON – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 16-year-old male after he allegedly attempted to rob another person at a residence in the Town of Esopus on the evening of Wednesday, March 28.
Following an investigation, deputies charged him with felonies of attempted robbery and assault and misdemeanors of menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. During the attempted robbery, the suspect, whose name police did not make public, injured the victim.
The alleged incident took place in the presence of a minor.
The assailant was charged and released to reappear in court at a later date.
