WEST NYACK – A teacher’s
aide at the Jesse J. Kaplan School in West Nyack brought a loaded gun
to the school this morning. The school is an educational facility for
autistic children ages five to 21.

A Clarkstown Police school resource officer onsite spoke to the school
principal and learned that the woman brought the gun to school, never
took it out and never used it in a threatening manner.

The gun was secured by the SRO.

The investigation is continuing and the police are working with Rockland
BOCES administration to ensure the safety of students and staff.
