POUGHKEEPSIE – A City of Poughkeepsie man was arrested on welfare fraud stemming from a recent investigation.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, in conjunction with the Investigations Division of the Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services, has revealed that Angel Rivera, 36, illegally secured over $4,100 in SNAP benefits between June 2015 and May 2016 by concealing the fact that he had unreported income.
Rivera was arrested on Tuesday, March 20 and charged with felony welfare fraud. He was released pending a future court appearance.
