GOSHEN – A Middletown man was sentenced in Orange County Court on Monday to 12 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision following his guilty plea to the crime of first-degree possession of drugs for having over eight ounces of crack cocaine in his possession.
Jmin Ward, 36, admitted that he possessed the drugs at his 41 Woodlake
Drive home in the City of Middletown in April of last year. The cocaine
was discovered when Middletown officers, aided by the Orange County Sheriff’s
Special Operations Group, executed a search warrant at Ward’s residence.
Police also seized drug paraphernalia including scales and packaging materials.
“Major narcotics dealers deserve lengthy state prison sentences and this defendant’s conduct merited his being sentenced to 12 years in state prison,” said District Attorney David Hoovler.
