NEw DMV office in Goshen will open in a couple of weeks

GOSHEN – People who have had to stand on long lines at Orange County
motor vehicle offices should get some relief in the weeks ahead as the
Goshen office, closed for the last several years when the government center
was shut down, will move into the new building.

The county clerk’s other DMV offices in Middletown, Newburgh and
Port Jervis, will continue to operate, but the new Goshen office may take
the heat off those other facilities. One woman was on line in the Newburgh
office for two hours last week just to make a two-minute transaction when
she got to the window.

The Goshen county clerk’s office will begin to move from 4 Glenmere
Cove Road to the government center at 255 Main Street on Monday.
The office provides services such as land and court records, passports,
pistol permits, the county’s Veterans Discount Card and notary public.

“I’m excited that operations are being restored in the new
facility and we are eager to assist residents there,” said County
Clerk Annie Rabbitt.

Other county departments have already moved into the new building including
budget, consumer affairs/weights and measures, county attorney, county
executive, district attorney, finance, general services/information technology,
human rights, human resources, legislature, real property, and risk management.
