Pine Island man killed in car crash

TOWN OF WARWICK – A 51-year-old
Pine Island man was killed when his vehicle ran off County Route 1 and
struck a tree, Warwick Town Police said.

The victim, Ronald Dejong, was driving alone just before 9 p.m. on March
1 when his 2002 Nissan struck the tree. He was pronounced dead at St.
Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
