NEWBURGH – Newburgh Free Academy North Co-Principal Matteo Doddo, Wednesday, advised parents of an incident among two students.
In a letter to parents, he said an incident took place that morning at the North Campus.
He said it was reported that two students were involved in a verbal altercation and it is alleged that one student made a verbal threat to an individual student and another threat to harm the entire school.
“The situation was immediately de-escalated. Each student was addressed according to the District Code of Conduct,” Doddo said. “Security monitors and our School Resource Officer escorted the individual student that allegedly made the threats, out of the school and placed him in a patrol car. The student was then taken to the City of Newburgh Police Department,” he said.
“As you know, the safety of our students and faculty is our highest priority,” Doddo said. “Please help us remind your child(ren) to speak to an adult if they ever hear of this type of threat to their school. It is through the work of all that we are able to love, support, and protect our scholars.”
