Truck driver killed in I-287 accident

TOWN OF HARRISON – State
Police said the driver of a truck that collided with another vehicle while
on I-287 in the Town of Harrison on Tuesday evening was killed in that
incident.

Police said the, John Riofrio, 48, of New York City, was traveling eastbound
on the highway around 7:30 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle.

After the crash, he lost control of his vehicle, which ran off the road,
over the south shoulder and through a guiderail, before overturning and
coming to rest in a small stream. He was located and pronounced dead at
the scene.

Two passengers in the truck were treated for minor injuries – William
Feliciano, 24, of New York City and Salazar Carrillo, 29, of Astoria,
were transited to Westchester Medical Center for minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
