KINGSTON – Funded by a state grant, Kingston is starting to have its government records digitized.
Mayor Steven Noble said a consulting firm has begun with the most recent 50 years of documents.
“We hope that this is just the start of a series of programs to be able to get more and more of our records digitized,” Noble said. “We have a long history here in the city and so we have many, many, many books so we are going to be doing records back to 1960.”
Once completed, birth, death and marriage records will be digitized at Kingston City Hall.
