KIAMESHA LAKE – The only Las Vegas-style full casino in the Catskills/Hudson
Valley region opened its doors to the public this morning with several
hundred people waiting to be the first to enjoy Resorts World Catskills
resort in Kiamesha Lake.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled at 11:00. The facility, with over
150 live table games and 2,150 slot machines, is the cornerstone of a
large-scale resort destination in Kiamesha Lake.
Resorts World Catskills includes an 18-story hotel and entertainment complex, fine dining, a 2,500-seat event center, indoor pools, a spa and fitness center.
Owned by Empire Resorts, the same company that owns and operates the Monticello Casino and Raceway in nearby Monticello, the new facility is adjacent to a large indoor waterpark that is under construction.
Resorts World Catskills is expected to draw visitors from the greater New York metropolitan area and from around the world.
