MID-HUDSON – The counties of Sullivan and Putnam have been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Governmental Financial Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
“The fact that we’ve earned this award year after year is testament to the diligence of the county’s talented staff,” said County Legislator Scott Samuelson, chairman of the Management and Budget Committee.
Sullivan County Treasurer Nancy Buck attributed the award to her staff. “There is a significant amount of daily work that county staff is required to perform and a professional financial management process that culminates in this annual achievement,” she said.
“The Certificate of Achievement “is recognition that Putnam County is committed to open, transparent government,” said County Executive MaryEllen Odell.
“Both the county executive and the legislature work cooperatively to ensure that the people of Putnam County are aware of how their taxpayer dollars are spent,” said Legislator Joseph Castellano, chairman of the Audit and Administration Committee.
