TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE –
A 72-year-old Town of Poughkeepsie woman suffered serious head injuries
and was taken to a local hospital after being struck by a car near 347
Violet Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, Poughkeepsie Town Police reported.
Initial investigation found that the victim was struck by a car traveling
north on Violet Avenue as she crossed the road. The vehicle was driven
by a 49-year-old Red Hook man.
The accident remains under investigation by Town of Poughkeepsie Police. The Fairview Fire Department rendered aid to the pedestrian at the scene.
