POUGHKEEPSIE – Police are
now calling the death of a city man found severely beaten in his 2 Wantaugh
Avenue home in Poughkeepsie a homicide.
James Griffin, 68, was discovered on Tuesday, January 2 after family members had not heard from him in days. He died on this past Tuesday, January 9 after undergoing surgery at MidHudson Regional Hospital.
Police said an autopsy conducted on Wednesday determined he was murdered.
The criminal investigation is continuing and there is no threat to public safety with regard to this incident, police said.
