NEW WINDSOR – As assistant general manager at the Sonic Restaurant at 14 Liner Road in the Town of New Windsor was charged on Tuesday with felony grand larceny for stealing deposits.
When questioned by police on Tuesday, Melissa Lynn Kearns, 42, of Poughkeepsie admitted stealing several deposits from the business over the last six months.
She was employed at the eatery for the last four years.
Restaurant management had recently discovered that over $10,000 in deposits were missing over the last several months. Town police were notified on Monday and Kearns was arrested on Tuesday.
Bail was set at $10,000 bail or bond.
