Recovered guns, ammo
SAUGERTIES – Police arrested three people and recovered the two guns, police badge and ID of a former Saugerties Police chief. The items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle on December 21.
An undercover investigation by the URGENT Task Force, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and State Police led to the arrests of Willie Rodriguez, 30, and Gina Julian, 24, both of Kingston. They were arrested following an intelligence-based traffic stop at Dawes and Market streets in Saugerties.
The handguns and ammunition were recovered along with 120 decks of heroin. The police chief, ID and other stolen belongings were recovered in a garbage can.
A third person, Skylar Eichert, 27, of Saugerties, was arrested on Livingston Street in Saugerties. A warrant search of her apartment revealed another 43 decks of heroin.
Rodriguez was charged with criminal possession of drugs, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
Eichert, also known as Cuddy, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal sale of a firearm, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of drugs.
Julian was charged with criminal possession of drugs and endangering the welfare of a child.
Rodriguez and Eichert were sent to the Ulster County Jail. Julian was released on her own recognizance.
