STONY POINT – A Stony Point man is being held in the Rockland County
Jail awaiting extradition to Florida on a probation violation.

Stony Point Police were called to a violent domestic incident early Friday
morning at 52B Jackson Drive. A female relative accused Christopher Owens,
47, on two occasions of preventing her from calling 911 for help and in
the process broke the cordless phone each time.

He was processed and released on his own recognizance, but a computer
check of his fingerprints revealed he was wanted in the State of Florida
for violating his probation on a marijuana charge.

He was taken into custody at his home on Saturday for being a fugitive
from justice.
