NEW CITY – The 145-member Rockland County Corrections Officers Benevolent Association has ratified a tentative contact with the county. The agreement covers 2011 through 2020 and settles an expired contract.
County Executive Edwin Day said he will sign the agreement, which also requires approval of the county legislature.
The new pact includes incremental wage increases from 2015 through 2020; no retroactive payment; an insurance benefit contribution from newly hired employees; tuition reimbursement for corrections officers; changes in drug testing policies to further safeguard the county jail; and operational changes covering several contract provisions including overtime, headcount coverage and scheduling that will result in cost reduction and/or efficiency changes.
