NEWBURGH – We have all seen calendars with scenic photos, firefighter pictures and even Calendar Girls – photos of senior citizens raising money to fight disease.
There is a new one now – The Dogs of Newburgh. Created by the non-profit Newburgh Palatine Dog Society, the calendar features a variety of mixed breeds, pit bulls, lap dogs and even a special guest pig.
Money raised from the sale of the calendars will go toward providing free microchipping, and eventually, spay/neuter services for Newburgh’s family pets.
“We wanted to do something that shows the city as we see it; full of loving families with their pets, and, of course, the amazing buildings of Newburgh,” said group president Ken Foster.
The group said the goal is to provide resources so that families can be sure to keep their dogs off the streets.
The calendar, with photos by actor and photographer Todd Cerveris and design work contributed by Aaron Lown of VUFF, is available at area stores and online at www.newburghpalatinedogsociety.org/shop .
