NEW CITY – Two people were arrested on attempted murder charges after they allegedly threatened four people at a home at 3 Lowell Drive in New City.
The incident occurred on Thanksgiving Thursday, November 23.
The homeowner told Clarkstown Police that he, along with three friends, were on the back deck smoking cigarettes when two men came on the property and threatened them for unknown reasons. One suspect had a knife and the other had a gun.
The suspects then ran toward the front of the house at which time the victims said they heard several gunshots. Investigation determined four gunshots had struck the house; there were no injuries.
Detectives apprehended Hoang Vu, 20, of New City, and a 16-year-old male from New City, who police did not publicly identify because of his age.
Both were charged with attempted murder, attempted assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal trespass. Vu was also charged with criminal solicitation and criminal facilitation.  Both were sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail each.
As the investigation continued, a third suspect was identified to have a connection to Vu and the teen. The Clarkstown Police Street Crime Unit apprehended Erik Jackson, 21, of Nanuet, who was arrested at his home and charged with two counts of drug possession, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of stolen property, all as felonies.  He was sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
The investigation is continuing.
