Two-car crash claims one life

PLEASANT VALLEY – A two-car
collision on Route 44 and the Taconic State Parkway in Pleasant Valley
claimed the life of an 18-year-old Poughkeepsie man.

State Police said the crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November
18.

Nolan Evanicki had to be extricated by the Pleasant Valley Fire Department
and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not say if he was alone
in his vehicle or had passengers.

The initial investigation indicated an eastbound vehicle on Route 44 made
a left turn to enter the Taconic on-ramp in front of a westbound vehicle.
Police did not say if anyone else was injured or if any tickets were issued.

State Police were assisted on the scene by the Pleasant Valley Fire Department
and Mobile Life Support Services ambulance. The investigation by the Bureau
of Criminal Investigation and State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit
is continuing.
