Woman’s car stolen by man she met online

WALDEN – A Union, New Jersey man is being held in Lincoln Park, New Jersey after local police investigated a disabled vehicle. The driver, James Pilotti, 39, was determined to have stolen the vehicle from Walden and that he was a wanted parolee.
The victim, a 47-year-old Walden woman, reported her car stolen on Saturday. She had met Pilotti on the dating website “Plenty of Fish” and spent nearly a week together.  He disappeared with her car keys, car and cash at which point she notified Walden Village Police.
Pilotti was held in New Jersey on the parole warrant with Walden charges pending.
For the victim’s safety, police are not releasing her name, address or vehicle information.
