MONTICELLO – Sullivan County has been awarded a $75,000 state grant to help purchase an emergency generator for the county’s Government Center in Monticello.
State Senator John Bonacic (R, Mt. Hope) secured the funding.  He said a generator is “crucial to provide power at the Government Center in the case of inclement weather or emergency situation.” It will also save county taxpayers money, the senator said.
County Manager Joshua Potosek said, “As the county continues to grow, so does our commitment to public safety and maintaining government functions.”
The government center is currently undergoing major renovations and upgrades.
