Homeless man arrested for residential burglary

KINGSTON – A homeless Kingston man is being held in the Ulster
County Jail following a residential break-in in Kingston.

At about 7:45 a.m. on Monday, October 23, city police responded to a reported
burglary in progress at an occupied residence on Florence Street.

Police obtained a description of the suspect, who had fled just before
they arrived on the scene and the suspect, identified as Edward McCoy,
21, was taken into custody a short distance away.

He was charged with felony burglary and criminal possession of stolen
property.

McCoy was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash
bail or $200,000 bond.
