POUGHKEEPSIE – Finance Commissioner Marc Nelson has been acting Poughkeepsie city administrator since Deborah McDonnell left, after only eight months on the job.  Mayor Robert Rolison has now appointed him permanent administrator subject to common council approval.
Nelson has filled both roles simultaneously. The mayor said he is the right person to move the city forward.
“We feel very confident with the team moving forward and I think good things are happening here in the city,” Rolison said. “We have a good team and we are going to keep that team in place.”
Assuming the council confirms Nelson’s appointment Monday night, he would then recommend a new finance commissioner.
