ALBANY – The Stony Point Police Department received a $7,000 state grant to pay for speed radar signs.
“The speed radar signs are a much-needed tool for our police department in helping to secure the safety of our residents,” said Town Supervisor James Monaghan.
The funds were secured by Assemblyman James Skoufis (D, Woodbury), who was approached last year by a resident who expressed concerned that her neighborhood along Major Andre drive was being used as a cut-through by speeding motorists.
“These new radar signs have a proven track record and will help keep motorists mindful of the speed limit,” said Skoufis.
