New Rochelle seeks new police commissioner

NEW ROCHELLE – The City of New Rochelle has launched a national search seeking a new police commissioner. Current commissioner, Patrick Carroll, is retiring from the post.
Candidates much have 10 years of experience and demonstrated performance as a law enforcement executive, administering progressive policing policies for diverse organizations and communities.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration or a closely related field a master’s degree is preferred.
“The police commissioner should foster an excellent culture and environment within the department that adheres to the law, advances community engagement, implements best practices, supports innovation and technology, respects diversity, and demonstrates accountability,” said City Manager Charles Strome, III.
