TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in the Town of Poughkeepsie are investigating the discovery of human remains near the intersection of Main Street and Route 44/55.
The remains were discovered around 10:16 a.m.
The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy today to determine the cause of death. No information was provided on how long the person might have been dead.
The name of the victim will be released once the identity has been confirmed and family members are notified.
Police Captain Kenneth Roman said there is no reason to believe there is any threat to the public.
