WHITE PLAINS – A Bronx man has been indicted on a charge of attempted murder in connection with a shooting on Interstate 95 northbound in the Town of Harrison on July 18.
Jamil Fields, 55, was also indicted on charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
At about 5:45 p.m. police found a 25-year-old man on the side of the highway being cared for by civilians. He had been shot several times including to his head, torso and left arm.
State Police investigated and determined the victim had been in a U-Haul van when he was shot, just prior to getting out of the vehicle as it was traveling northbound on I-95. Further investigation led police to Fields, who had rented the van in which the victim was shot.
If convicted, Fields faces up to 25 years in state prison.
