NEWBURGH – Two candidates under consideration for the position of Newburgh City Police chief met individually behind closed doors with city council members Thursday night.
The candidates are East Fishkill Police Lt. Matthew Orsino and Binghamton City Police Investigator Chris Bracco. No decisions were made following the executive sessions and the city is not required to hire either candidate.
At present, Lt. Aaron Weaver is serving as officer-in-charge of the department. The city has not had a permanent police chief in over two years.
