Sullivan public safety commissioner confirmed

MONTICELLO – A year after Richard Martinkovic retired, Sullivan County has a new commissioner of public safety.
Richard Sauer, a state trooper, was confirmed by the county legislature on Tuesday.
“Richard Sauer possesses the requisite education, experience and physical fitness to perform the functions of this position,” reads the resolution. 
Sauer, appointed by County Manager Joshua Potosek, was the only qualified applicant, according to the resolution that was adopted unanimously.
