HYDE PARK – A man and woman are under arrest in connection with a burglary at the Dollar General store at 1049 Violet Avenue in Hyde Park.
Town Police had beefed up patrols in the area following several commercial break-ins.
At about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 10, police received a burglar alarm activation and through investigation checked area roads with the assistance of Dutchess County Sheriff’s deputies and Poughkeepsie Town Police. Officers stopped a vehicle on Salt Point Turnpike and charged the two occupants.
The driver, John Dekoskie, 53, of Poughkeepsie, was charged with felony burglary. He is in the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
His passenger, Caitlin Decesare, 20, of Hyde Park, was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of stolen property. She was jailed in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond.
Police did not say if the couple was involved in other burglaries in Hyde Park.
