TOWN OF ROCHESTER – A bicyclist
was injured in a collision with an SUV on Ulster County Route 6 in the
Town of Rochester.
On September 9 at approximately 9:41 a.m. Ulster Sheriff’s deputies
and state troopers responded to a 911 call for an accident at that location.

Investigation determined a 2016 Honda CRV driven by Dean A Quick, 46,
of High Falls, was eastbound on County Route 6 and attempting to make
a left turn into a driveway. A bicycle, operated by Alexis Demopoulos,
48, of High Falls, was traveling westbound.
As the vehicle driven by Quick entered into the westbound lane, Demopoulos
attempted to stop but was unable to and struck the vehicle in the front
right corner. Demopoulos was airlifted to Westchester County Medical Center
for treatment.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police at Ellenville,
Accord Fire Department, Kerhonkson Accord First Aid Squad and Mobile Life
Support Services. County Route 6 was closed in both directions for approximately
three hours and the investigation is continuing.
