LAGRANGEVILLE – It was an unusual find for the state Department of Environmental Conservation – sharks found in an above-ground basement swimming pool in a home in Lagrangeville.
In August, the DEC found seven live sharks and three dead ones in the 15-foot-diameter above ground pool. Seven live sandbar sharks were seized along with two dead leopard sharks and one dead hammerhead shark.
The sharks were transported to the Long Island Aquarium.
No charges were lodged.
