Port Jervis man charged with rape of child

PORT JERVIS – A 42-year-old Port Jervis man has been charged with
several counts of rape in connection with crimes against a child.

Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden said Robert Mackerley, Jr. has
been charged with three counts of first-degree rape, three counts of second-degree
rape, two counts of criminal sexual act, three counts of luring a child
and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000
bail.

The case is being prosecuted by the Orange County District Attorney’s
Office.
