WASHINGTON – The Rock Hill Fire Department is going to be the recipient of a $58,572 grant from the federal government.
“This critical funding will allow Rock Hill Fire Department to install two Source Capture Exhaust Extraction Systems to address health dangers in the firehouse,” said Congressman John Faso (R, NY-19).
“This funding makes sure that fumes can effectively be discharged from the truck exhaust and do not fill the firehouse,” said Fire Commission Chairman Steven Gottlieb. “The air firefighters breathe is just as important inside of our firehouse as it is inside a burning building.”
The funding comes from FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant program.
