POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in the Town and City of Poughkeepsie are telling residents to close their windows and lock their car doors during the overnight hours. They also say residents should not leave any valuables in their cars overnight.
City Police said there has been a recent increase in reports of vehicle break-ins in the residential areas south of Hooker Avenue as well as the area around Georgetown Square. Several unlocked cars have been rummaged with items taken.
Anyone seeing anything suspicious is urged to call their local police department.
