MONSEY – The three-month
baby, who was with his mother, and two sisters when they were struck by
a motorist as they walked on the shoulder of Route 59 in Monsey one week
ago, has died.

Ramapo Town Police said the baby died early Wednesday morning at Westchester
Medical Center in Valhalla. The baby was in a stroller at the time.

The 38-year-old mother and her 13 and nine year old daughters, who were
also walking with her, were also struck by the vehicle driven by Albert
Gomez, 62, who was charged with assault, reckless endangerment and reckless
driving.

It was not immediately known if the charges would be upgraded since the
baby died.
