Traffic stop leads to felony drug charges

WAPPINGERS FALLS – Two men are under arrest following a joint police investigation into drug sales in Dutchess County.
Elijah Paulin, 19, of Beacon, and Jashaun Trotman, 18, of Poughkeepsie, were arrested following a traffic stop in the area of Route 9 in Wappingers Falls on Friday. Police seized some 46 grams of heroin at that time.
Both men were charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and are in the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond each.
Participating in the investigation were the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, City of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit, members of the State Police Wappingers barracks and a State Police K-9 unit.
