Over 20 World War II aircraft to fly over Mid-Hudson in honor of wounded vets

WEST POINT – The US Military
Academy’s 2nd Aviation Detachment will host 22 World War II aircraft
tomorrow (Saturday) for a flyover to honor wounded veterans on-board a
flotilla traveling from New York City to Newburgh.

The flotilla will have Purple Heart recipients and Gold Star families
from World War II to Afghanistan and Iraq, including eight World War II
veterans.

The aircraft will fly directly over West Point starting at 12:30 p.m.
and continuously until about 1:30 p.m., as the flotilla passes West Point
heading northbound.
