MONTICELLO – A 56-year-old Monticello man has been arrested and
charged with murder in connection with the death of Douglas Malone, 59,
of Spring Street in Monticello.
Charles Curio of 7 High Street in the village was arrested on Tuesday,
June 13 in connection with the stabbing death of Malone whose body was
discovered behind 9 High Street on Saturday, June 3. Construction workers
discovered the body aro0und 8:30 a.m.
An autopsy showed Malone died of several stab wounds.
Curio was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail
pending a further court action.
The case was investigated by Monticello Police and the Sullivan County
District Attorney’s Office.
No motive was give for the homicide.
