Saugerties employee charged with stealing cash from town safe

SAUGERTIES – A 16-year-employee of the Town of Saugerties Buildings and Grounds Department has been charged with felony grand larceny for stealing $1,000 from a safe at the Kiwanis Ice Arena Admissions Office.
Saugerties Police arrested Barry Mower, Jr., 33, of Saugerties on June 7 when he turned himself in to police after being contacted regarding an investigation into the stolen money.  Police said he cooperated with then and admitted to taking the money.
Mower was processed and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.
