Woman arrested for bringing drugs to prison

WAWARSING – A Poughkeepsie woman was arrested on Saturday when she entered a state prison in the Town of Wawarsing while in possession of controlled substances.
A state corrections K-9 officer found the substances on Amanda Lewis, 32, who was charged with promoting prison contraband.
Lewis was found in possession of a prescription bottle with six different types of controlled substances. She was also found in possession of a marijuana cigarette and a marijuana grinder in her car while on prison grounds.  She was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $250 cash bail or $500 bond pending a future court appearance.
