Pedestrian struck, killed on Rt. 17

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police are investigating a deadly accident on Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill Thursday evening.
A woman crossing the westbound side of the highway near exit 122 was struck and killed by a passing vehicle around 9:30 p.m., authorities said.
Westbound traffic was diverted off the highway, which remained closed until 1:00 this morning.
State Police investigated the incident with a number of local fire departments assisting on the scene.
