POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie woman has been charged with trading
in a friend’s 2001 Mercedes Benz at a Poughkeepsie car dealership
without his permission and trading it in for a 2016 Mazda.

Victoria Serino, 26, was charged by State Police with criminal possession
of a forged instrument, grand larceny and falsifying business records,
all as felonies.

In January, troopers were contacted by a Rome, New York man who reported
that an acquaintance traded in his Mercedes at a dealership without his
permission.

An investigation revealed that Serino possessed a forged title for the
Mercedes and submitted an application to the DMV for a new title in her
name. When she received it, she traded the Mercedes in for the Mazda.

She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance pending a future
court appearance.
