WASHINGTONVILLE – A Brooklyn man is in the Orange County Jail after
his arrest for making a call to Washingtonville High School back in January
in which he said a bomb would go off.

Village Police Sergeant Frank Basile said Marcel Graham, 18, was arrested
Tuesday morning at his Brooklyn residence. He was charged with the felony
of falsely reporting an incident.

Graham was arraigned and committed to the Orange County Jail in lieu of
$50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.

A 17-year-old Washingtonville High School student who is a friend of Graham’s
and recently moved to the village from Brooklyn, had sent him a text message
asking him to make the bomb threat call. When he didn’t do it immediately,
Basile said the youth sent another text asking him when he was going to
make the call.

When the student was arrested days after the threatening call, he was
charged with falsely reporting an incident as a felony.
