TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A Town of Poughkeepsie man is in the Dutchess
County Jail charged with holding up the Citizen’s Bank branch at
32 Vassar Road in the town twice.
Adam Malavase, 32, was arrested by town police for allegedly holding up
the bank while threatening the use of a firearm on March 15. He is also
believed to have held up the same bank branch on March 8.
At this point, he was just charged with committing the most recent robbery.
Charges are pending for the earlier heist.
A bank security officer provided investigators with a description of the
robber’s car and officers located it at a residence in the town.
Malavase was charged in the March 15 crime with first-degree robbery.
He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail
or $200,000 bond.
