KINGSTON – A Shokan man pled guilty in Ulster County Court on Thursday to a charge of attempted burglary.
Sometime between January and March 2016, Jason Scofield, 33, an admitted heroin addict, unlawfully entered the residence of a relative in Shandaken and stole a rifle. The weapon was recovered at an area antique store.
When sentenced in April, the DA’s Office will recommend 3 ½ years in state prison.
The Shandaken Police Department handled the investigation.
