WHITE PLAINS – A New Rochelle woman was arraigned in Westchester
County Court on Tuesday on a charge that she murdered her boyfriend.

Jonitha Alston, 33, was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon
and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the December
29, 2016 murder of Dennis Graham, who was 60.

Following investigation, police alleged that Alston stabbed Graham seven
times in the chest in the apartment they shared.

Alston initially told responding officers that she was suffering from
an anxiety attack and needed medical attention.

Graham was found sitting in a chair on the curb outside the apartment
with several stab wounds to his torso. He died early the next month at
Jacobi Medical Center.

Alston, who remains in the Westchester County Jail, faces 25 years to
life in state prison if convicted of murder.
