Teen threatens to stab mother

NEW PALTZ – A 16-year-old New Paltz youth has been arrested for allegedly threatening to cut and stab his mother with a folding knife box cutter.
New Paltz Police charged with youth, whose name they did not make public, with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon following a domestic incident with his mother at a residence in the Town of Saugerties.
The youth was arraigned and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance. After his release, he was accompanied by his mother and police officers to Health Alliance Kingston Hospital campus for a psychiatric evaluation.
